I believe in savoring the little things in life; in focusing on the mundane.
We weren't always on the go. Things weren't always made to be readily and cheaply replaced. We used to keep things for years, decades. I hear this all the time and it is true.
But I feel like we also didn't always view the simple things in life as the irrelivant or unimportant. The little things in our life are important- little things like a cup of tea or coffee. When I get comments about how expensive hand made ceramics, I remember that this is part of the reason why. Because the things that make up a day, the little acts, the joy of sitting with a book or the paper, holding something that is your favorite, smelling the warm flavors of tea from something trusty, matter.
These things are unique and more importantly they are PERSONAL. Not in a gimmick way. Not in a me trying to sell you something way. Not in a personalize your skincare way. If your daughter or niece or nephew made you a mug, hold that every morning and feel the connection to it.
Our world is too hurried. We have forgotten about mornings, about weekends. We have forgotten about the simple moments that aren't lux are what make up our lives. Not big instagramable vacations- but a cup of coffee.
