Ceramics Care

Thank you so much for choosing to use hand made ceramics.  When you purchased your ceramics, you did it because they are unique and you connected with them.  With a little care, it can be in your life and maybe even your families lives for a long long time- sometimes even generations.  To help your new and unique pieces stay looking their best for years to come, here are some simple care tips.

Cleaning

While pieces are dishwasher safe, to keep your glazes vibrant and avoid chipping, hand wash wash with a mild soap.  Do not use abrasive scrubbing pads and instead use a soft cloth and warm water.

Microwave

Pieces are microwave safe however, avoiding extreme temperature changes: To prevent cracking, avoid taking your ceramics from cold to hot or hot to cold.  Do not take out of the fridge or freezer and putting them directly in the mircowave.  Let them come to room temperature first.

Avoid using microwave on metallic glazes or lusters (Metal shouldn't go into the microwave and lusters are liquid metal).

Storage

To protect the glaze, avoid stacking pieces.  Wait until fully dry to put into storage.  Small imperfections can happen over time and add character to your pieces but using these tips and being mindful can help your pieces last a life time.
